What Makes Waterloo Different
Since its restart in 2022, the West Coast Swing community in Kitchener-Waterloo has proven to be one of the fastest-growing and most inclusive & welcoming dance communities.
Participants from Remix Swing, the local WCS dance studio owned by our Event Director, Mikaela Lewis, have made waves as socially active, conscientious, and vibrant dancers and community members at events around the world.

Our Mission
The Waterloo Ontario Open is built on community, inclusiveness, and growth. Our mission is to create a dance space where everyone — from first-time beginners to seasoned competitors — feels welcomed, supported, and inspired. We believe that West Coast Swing thrives when dancers of all levels share the floor, connect through music, and grow together.
